I have really scored this week, with some short dated or expired film; including two boxes of EFKE IR820 Infrared for the 4x5. Which is now safely put into my freezer, and will only be pulled out for use next summer!
believeinfilmfilmisnotdead asked: Sorry I didn't have a chance to talk to you at the 12x12 exhibition. Thank you for your support, it's an event that I look forward to all year long.
You’re most welcome, we hope to be sponsors for many years to come. And it was a very full venue this year. -JR

Today is George Eastman’s birthday, and in celebration the founder of #Kodak’s birthday, I am wearing my Kodak shirt, and both my cameras that I am carrying today are loaded with Kodak film.
If you do not shoot film, at least take some photos this weekend, to help celebrate this fine gentlemen that was so instrumental in making photography what it is today. Even in the digital age we live in now; most of the current digital cameras use the Bayer Pattern which is based off of a Kodak design!
Have a great weekend everyone.
My post from work this evening
We are pleased to present @stevesimon who is coming to Victoria, and the Victoria Camera Club will be hosting an evening with him, door prizes are courtesy of @KCLVictoria . The event will take place on Tuesday August 27th, from 7:30-9:30pm; at Norway House (1110 Hillside Ave, Victoria BC)
I was fortunate enough to meet Steve Simon during the 2010 Winter Olympics, and I have been listening to him be a guest speaking on podcasts such as TWiP and others for many years now. He is a great photographer, a great presenter, and a very nice fellow to speak with in general.
I am sad that I will personally be out of town during this event, I would have loved to talk to Steve more, but I welcome all of you to attend if you can.
Admission is only $15/person if you are a non-member, and $7.50/person if you are a VCC member. Well worth it in my opinion.
Tickets are available now, and you can get them here! We hope you are able to attend!
Just cause I cannot go, does not mean you should miss this event!
My new to me camera, the Rollei 35, a later variant of the original with the Carl Zeiss 40mm F/3.5 Tessar, but the newer bottom latch and the shorter name on the bottom plate.
The light meter is dead and will never work again, the original owner left the mercury battery in it for over 20 years, and it exploded inside the camera. There is all sorts of electrical corrosion inside the light meter. But it is mechanically sound, I have a roll of Rollei Retro 400s loaded in it now.
Hope to be posting samples taken with it soon.
